Bandai Namco Entertainment has seemingly teased a Digimon TCG Mobile project, which could see the Digimon Card Game headed to mobile devices.
A teaser over the weekend from Bandai Card Games Fest shows the Digimon Renamon sucked into a phone- as part of a new Card Game Project.
They’ve also confirmed that more information would be revealed at Digimon Con on March 19th and 20th, though for now we at least know the project is card game related.
The Right Time For Digimon TCG Mobile
Given the popularity of the card game it would make sense for Bandai to want to have some form of Digimon TCG Mobile- mobile adaptations of card games are currently in vogue, especially with the success of Pokemon TCG Pocket and YuGiOh Master Duel.
For those not aware, the Digimon Card Game is a fascinatingly complex game about raising your own Digimon against each other- it features the more free-form evolution chains that set Digimon apart from other monster collectors, as well as a unique Memory mechanic- where spending too many resources immediately ends your turn.
That being said there’s no guarantee what we could expect out of the announcement at Digimon Con- the breadth of Digimon ranging from story RPGs like Digimon Story series to fitness toys like the Vital Bracelet show that until we have more concrete information, literally anything is on the cards.
