Amazing Seasun Games has said they’re open to the idea of unlocking the Mecha Break Strikers, following fan feedback from the Open Beta.
In an interview with PC Gamer, they said the progression system from the Open Beta was not final, especially after fans complained about the price to unlock some Mecha Break strikers.
“We do know the biggest concern and then we think that the players are right,” Amazing Seasun CEO Kris Kwok tells PC Gamer. “We are considering that we may [give] access to all Strikers to players.”
Note that this isn’t confirmation that the changes are coming to the game’s full launch- rather instead an acknowledgement that they’ve heard the community’s complaints.
Mecha Break Strikers Unlocking Holds Back Previous Beta
The Striker unlocks were a big problem with the last beta for Mecha Break- while the closed betas had the full roster more or less unlockable to use, popular Strikers like Panther were locked behind massive pay walls, requiring players to grind currency to unlock.
Considering the game is a class based shooter, having potential counter-picks be locked behind grinding could be convincingly argued against.
This model has proven to work with games like Marvel Rivals and Overwatch- which both featured having paid content be relegated to cosmetics.
