Handheld gaming is back in style and more stylish than ever with the MSI Claw 8 Fallout edition, adding that MSI touch to your handheld PC experience.
The star of the lineup is obviously the MSI Claw 8 Fallout 4 Edition, which sees the A1M handheld decked out in Vault-Tec colors. As a Fallout fan myself it’s pretty great seeing how committed to the bit the MSI Claw 8 Fallout Edition is- from decorative geiger counters to various pieces of Vault Tec heraldry all across the body.
It’s a surprisingly tasteful piece of livery for your gaming handheld- I guarantee you every Fallout fan has wanted something akin to their own Pip Boy at some point in their life, and the MSI Claw 8 Fallout Edition feels like the closest you can get without having to install a CRT monitor or an extremely sturdy wrist brace.
You’ll need to wait a little bit to get your hands on the MSI Claw 8 Fallout Edition- there’s no release date for it quite yet, ain’t that a kick in the head.
MSI Claw 8 A1M
Even if you opt for the non-Nuka-tastic version of the handheld, the MSI Claw 8 A1M is a powerful gaming device. Very few concessions were made to deliver a high-end gaming experience- meaning the only thing you’re really wondering about when you ask “Should I play this on my MSI Claw 8” is a question of taste (and controller support).
With 16GB of RAM, an Intel Ultra 5 processor and a 120Hz monitor, you’re not far off from your standard laptop specs here. It’s perk after perk and jams all your favorite games on to a decent 7-inch screen.
Getting to try it out at Computex 2024, it’s a fun way to play your games. The MSI Claw 8 feels way better in-hand, with a good amount of heft that doesn’t feel overencumbering.
Checking Out The MSI Claw 8 AI+
We even got to sneak a peak at the new MSI Claw 8 AI+- featuring the supercharged Lunar Lake chipset and various other fan-requested features.
Be it the new thunderbolt port or the enhanced feedback on the buttons, there’s lots to look forward to for the MSI Claw 8 AI+. I’m personally looking forward to the enhanced battery life, which should take it from a “let’s pop in a few quick games” to a “Alright it’s time to clear the next major story chapter” level of playtime.
That being said, we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we find out when it’ll be available for consumers.
