I have a lot of interest in peripherals not made for lavish setups. When people think PC accessories they usually imagine a triple threat: large, lit and a massive money sink. I mean, for those people spending on a computer not only powerful enough to put someone on the moon but also fly them half of the way there, sure, but what about the rest of us?
Acer’s Nitro KG241Y P3 is a cute flatscreen gaming monitor that’s here to reminder that some of us aren’t compensating for anything. Everything I love about this monitor comes from its demure stature- it’s small enough to fit in a lot of desk setups, and light enough to move around with one hand in case your desk, like mine, has a figure infestation that need to occasionally be moved around.

Sporting a 23.8″ LCD screen, the Nitro KG241Y P3 works pretty great as a secondary monitor. Colors pop very nicely on the screen, making it great for catching up on your anime or even watching Secret Level while you get your day-to-day tasks done.
But what of as a gaming monitor? Well, you’ll fined that the KG241Y P3 is excellent there, too. The low latency makes it great for high-execution games, with even the tightest combo strings running smoothly alongside your hit confirms.
Heck, given the size and weight you might even want to bring the monitor if you’re the type to run impromptu setups: it’s portable enough that you could totally set it up to run a Tekken money match at a cafe. I mean, heck, it even has speakers. It’s not so portable that I’d recommend carrying it around, but as far as the portability v quality graph goes, this one places pretty high there.
Be it sniping out Jeff the Landshark in Marvel Rivals or Elphelt Corner Pressure, the Nitro KG241Y P3 has your back. It’s a great monitor for anyone running a tight budget, especially since retails for only RM379, it’s a great first step into the life-changing world of a dual monitor setup.
Admittedly if you’re the type to care about 8K gaming this may not meet your needs- 180Hz and 1080p are great for every day use but you’ll want to choose something a little more premium if you want more premium features.
Still, if responsiveness, portability and budget-friendly are what you’re looking for, then definitely consider the Nitro KG241Y P3 for your setup. I’d especially recommend it for students- be it for procrastinating or turbo focusing, you can never go wrong with an additional display.
