The Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt update sees a massive influx of content to the game, adding a new class, multiple new ascendancy classes as well as more endgame content for the Exile who just can’t get enough.
Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt drops April 4th, and its biggest change comes in the form of a new playable class: the Huntress.
In addition, it also sees some community-led changes, like tweaks to the endgame Towers.
Doing Combos With The Huntress
The Huntress uses a spear, with a focus on being able to move in and out of melee combat: either throw the spear at range or stab with it in melee.
Her new buckler also adds an ability for the action game fans- a parry.
Unlike shields which can be held to block, bucklers require you to time your hits- miss the window and be punished.
The Huntress has abilities that gain new effects after a parry, such as Disengage creating an explosion while your character gets to safety.
Naturally, with the addition of the Huntress in Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt, the update will also feature new spears and bucklers for you to collect.
New Ascendancy Classes In Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt
Aside from two new Ascendancy classes for the Huntress, Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt will also feature three more, giving new options for the Mercenary, Warrior and Witch.
The new Ascendancy classes are as follows:
- Ritualist (Huntress) – The Ritualist sacrifices flesh and blood, unleashing corrupted lifeforce upon their foes. She delved into the forbidden depths of Azmeri traditions, wielding blood sacrifice and plague as weapons
- Amazon (Huntress) – A peerless hunter who thrives on precision and elemental fury. The Amazon Ascension forges warriors into elite hunters, sworn to protect Azmeri Elders with lethal precision.
- Lich (Witch) – The Lich tears their own soul apart, becoming a master of undeath and chaos. The Lich is a master of Chaos and Curses who can use her own life to enhance her Energy.
- Smith of Kitava (Warrior) – The Smith of Kitava forges weapons of destruction in fire and suffering. Embrace sheer power and take Smithing skills to greater heights by resonating with the insatiable one – Kitava.
- Tactician (Mercenary) – the Mercenary Tactician brings military-grade brutality to the battlefield. As a former trained Blackguard Elite, the Tactician is able to decimate the monsters of Wraeclast while earning a healthy income at the same time.
More Skills
In addition, Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt will see the addition of new Skill Gems, including 20 Skills for the new Spear weapon as well as over 100 new Support Gems.
Some of these skills include Raise Spectre, which lets you capture and summon powerful monsters you encounter, as well as Summon Rhoa Mount, which will let you ride the bird-like Rhoa.
Much, Much More Content
Aside from that expect a massive influx of new content in Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt- Grinding Gear Games have confirmed the addition of several new endgame modes, as well as new map features that can be encountered in early and mid game.
The biggest part of the endgame changes comes in the form of Towers, which have been reduced in quantity, but improved in strength and can now hold up to 3 tablets.
Not all the content is for endgame, however, with much more content being able to appear for midgame players too.
Azmeri Wisps, for example can possess random monsters, enhancing their abilities but also their rewards.
Players can also find new Unique Strongboxes, such as Ogham’s Legacy which has you fight the same enemy repeatedly, increasing in rarity and difficulty each time and granting you better loot for it.
Ixchel’s Torment, on the other hand, has you fighting Chaos-empowered Guardians for Unique items with specific Corruption.
Speaklng of Corruption, you’ll now be able to go to the Corrupted Nexus, at the center of Corrupted Zones to fight bosses and cleanse maps.
Cleansed Maps will also feature new monsters and new bosses, making it a must-try for fans of exploring.
However, you’ll want to watch your back exploring the world of Wraeclast- one of the other new features coming to Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt is Rogue Exiles, AI-controlled characters who behave like players looking for a fight.
These pre-built characters are all carrying their own Unique gear, so you’ll want to kill them to grab any of their stuff that catches your eye.
