Redfall became a hot topic of discussion since its release, and prior to actually trying out the game, players may hold high hopes towards the game, similar to other great games by Arkane Studios, such as Prey, Dishonoured, and the experience was mostly different from their expectations.

One may ask: “How’s the game doing as of now?” Here, we’ve extracted several comments on the Steam store page for reference, and we can only say that for those who have played it before, the game felt like it isn’t even half done.

I try to keep things positive, I really do. But I am human, I have feelings.

Seeing people I looked up to saying things like ‘They deserved this’ ‘Now their resumes are tainted lol’ ‘what fucking idiots’ etc have, truthfully, been the only things to bother me.

Sadie Boyd, the 2D art designer/developer of the game posted on Twitter expressing their feeling of grief towards the responses towards the game.Other than Phil Spencer from the publisher Microsoft expressing his dissapointment towards the game,Boyd stated that she didn’t expect peers from the same industry to be mocking the game and laugh at their terrible sales, she felt utterly saddened, confused and dissappointed by the fact that she is mocked by some of the people that she admired in the past, and there are some even saying things like “This is going to look bad on their portfolio” or “They deserved it”.

I did not anticipate my own peers, friends, or colleagues openly mocking and being gleeful of a difficult launch.

Delighting in the failure of others, no matter how you feel towards a company, seems mean spirited.

In the game, players will be stuck in the Redfall island full of vampires and got blocked out of sunlight, to be hunted mercilessly by vampires. Players can control 4 characters with different abilities, to unveil the mystery behind and save the city.

Flooded with bad reviews, the game is now branded by players as an incomplete and unsatisfactory game. Players have given their opinion towards the game from many aspects, including the rendering quality, empty world/map design, matchmaking issues and so on. It made the Redfall one of the games on Steam that has the worst reviews on Steam, similar to other triple A titles such as Forspoken or the Destiny 2 Lightfall DLC.
