Verix has been named the Arc World Tour 2023 Winner for Guilty Gear Strive, following a grueling season and hard fought top 8.
Grand finals was fought between Verix from Senegal and Slash from Saudi Arabia, with Slash coming from the loser’s side.
However, Verix managed to secure the 3-2 victory from the winner’s side, before the bracket could be reset.
An Arc World Tour 2023 Winner Crowned
Verix played Nagoriyuki, overwhelming Slash’s May with the character’s high damage and big buttons, as well as reacting to Slash’s own mix-ups and voracious offense.
He also played through a gauntlet of high-profile players, such as TempestNYC, who placed 3rd.
“I am really happy that all my efforts qualifying, they [paid off]”, Verix said after being named Arc World Tour 2023 Winner.
He wins 50,000 USD for this efforts, with Slash winning 20,000 USD as runner-up.
The tournament even ended with some announcements for Guilty Gear Strive- while ABA was already announced as the next character, game producer Ken Miyauchi revealed that Season 4 of the game’s DLC was in development, with a tease of what appears to be Slayer coming in May 2024.
The Arc World Tour is a professional Esports circuit, with players spending the 2023 season competing in majors from EVO to Combo Breaker in an attempt to qualify for the finals.
