ASUS Malaysia today announced the pre-order promotion for the Zenbook S 16 (UM5606), the first ultrathin 16-inch new-era ASUS AI PC, which combines performance with sophistication.
The premium Zenbook S 16 has a new functional aesthetic, and has been completely redesigned from the inside out. The chassis incorporates our exquisite new Ceraluminum™1, a high-tech ceramic hybrid material in a range of nature-inspired colors. Zenbook S 16 is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370 processor with Radeon™ 890M graphics which is capable of up to 50 dedicated NPU TOPS. Thanks to the use of advanced CNC milling, we’ve managed to incorporate a 3D vapor chamber in the ultra-quiet ambient cooling system — unique in such a thin device — to ensure a maximum performance of up to 28 W CPU TDP with minimal noise. The functional design reduces friction between the user and the device, with features such as a dedicated Copilot key and a 40%-larger2 16:10 seamless touchpad that supports smart gestures.
Immersive entertainment is delivered by the 3K 120 Hz ASUS Lumina OLED display, which when combined with the powerful six-speaker audio system — an unprecedented feature in such a thin laptop — ensures a truly cinematic experience.
The device is robustly protected by the Microsoft Pluton security processor, and the convenient new Windows passkeys feature allows users to store authentication data securely with no chance of leakage. For a true cinematic experience Zenbook S 16 includes a powerful six-speaker Harman Kardon-certified audio system, a remarkable engineering feat in such a thin device. Quiet and secure
Particular care has been taken to reduce noise in Zenbook S 16. The advanced 3D vapor-chamber cooling system with dual Iceblade fans allows an under-25 dB ambient cooling mode, as well as automatically adjusting to enable the full 28 W TDP performance when demanded. An attractively designed geometric grille above the keyboard maximizes airflow while minimizing the risk of dust or dirt ingress.
Effortless user privacy and security are a top priority, so Zenbook S 16 supports Windows passkeys and Microsoft Pluton, which integrates cutting-edge hardware, firmware, and software to defend against evolving threats. Windows passkeys use Windows Hello’s facial recognition to ensure secure access to the user’s authentication data, so they don’t have to remember passwords or other private details.
Windows Hello facial recognition is enabled by the ASUS AiSense IR camera. This camera also supports the convenience of Adaptive Lock, which monitors user presence and locks the laptop when the user moves away. Finally, Adaptive Dimming enhances privacy by dimming the screen when the user looks away from the screen.
