Arc System Works has teased an upcoming Guilty Gear anime project, ahead of a full reveal at Anime Expo.

Titled Guilty Gear Strive Dual Rulers, the publisher put out a key visual teaser of the upcoming Guilty Gear anime.

The reveal will also be streamed on the Arc System Works Twitch Channel.

The teaser features Sol and Sin, as well as a seemingly new character set to be introduced in the series.

Based on the teaser, it looks like the story is set after the events of Guilty Gear Strive- for one, Sol is no longer wearing his limiter headband, due to losing his powers at the end of the game’s story mode.

Arc System Works haven’t been too shy at moving the timeline forward after the end of the game’s story- from Season 2 onwards characters arcade modes have all been taking place after the game’s story, though mostly in small, inconsequential ways such as exploring different characters’ relationships.

Similarly, it’s not like they’ve ever shied from anime-style presentations of the game’s story- earlier games like Guilty Gear XX also featured anime-style cinematics for the game’s intro.

More About The Guilty Gear Anime

The anime will be directed by Shigeru Morikawa, who’s known for directing the animated short Find Your One Way to celebrate the first anniversary of Guilty Gear Strive.

Morikawa also directed multiple anime such as Blue Lock and D4DJ First Mix.

Another anime produced by Sanzigen Inc and also featuring Shigeru Morikawa’s directorial work

It’s also being produced by Sanzigen Inc, a 3D anime studio that produced BanG Dream as well as D4DJ, among other titles.

Fans have long been clamoring for a Guilty Gear anime, particularly after the success of Guilty Gear Strive.
