A FIRST FOR SABAH, HOBBYCON CELEBRATES CREATORS & VENDORS BY BRINGING
SABAH OTAKU MARKET.
HOBBYCON Sabah, one of Sabah's longest-running and largest ACG organisers brings Sabah Otaku Market, a 2 days anime & art trade show with a dash of local Sabahan culture with a focus on vendors, artists, games, content creators, themed F&B's, artisans, toy collectors, tabletop games and many more.
The event is located at Sabah International Convention Centre and is aimed at promoting the diverse art, creativity, compassion, and imagination of Malaysians. The event is said to attract local Sabahans as well as from peninsular, Labuan and Sarawak as well as international visitors from Brunei and Indonesia.
Among the highlights will be the booths with over 80 vendors from the region who will be selling their unique F&Bs, merchandise, works, toys and products.
There will also be special appearances by Amelia Khor and fun activities brought to you by Unipin which is one of the leading digital entertainment enablers in the region;
We will also have TierOne Entertainment which marks their official entry into East Malaysia and Coscom from Penang will also make their first appearance at Sabah ACG conventions as well. Winner for TierOne's lucky draw held on that day is also able to bring Hakken's standee back home!
Besides that, we have local vendors like Hyperay, renowned for their Cardfight!!
Vanguard trading card games and vendors from the education sector such as North Borneo University College & University College Sabah Foundation will showcase their art students' portfolios. Additionally, it serves to entice young people interested in the arts and animation to participate and develop their skills further.
HOBBYCON Founding President, Johan Julian shared, "We remain strongly committed to supporting the industry and we hope to transition our sector to be more acceptable in a shared creative and gig economy."
