WIT Studio has announced the next anime in their lineup: An adaptation of My Deer Friend Nokotan, a high school comedy about a girl who’s part elk.
Announced via a new trailer, My Deer Friend Nokotan will air on July 7th 2024, as part of the seasonal lineup.
My Deer Friend Nokotan Summary
The anime will revolve around Torako Koshi, a perfect girl who’s hiding the fact that she used to be a delinquent.
This all changes when she meets Nokotan- an antlered-girl who seems to be able to sniff out Torako’s secret.
The show itself has a bizarre surreal sense of humor- with plenty of bizarre gags like Nokotan walking through a wall with her horns and accidentally bludgeoning her whole class in the process.
There’s also creepy CGI Deer, the hallmark of any good anime pitch.
It’s directed by Onipan’s Masahiko Oota, with scripts by Takashi Aoshima and Ayumu Tsujimura on character design, as well as Yasuhiro Misawa composing.
