FURYU Corporation is moving forward with its REYNATIS TWEWY collab, bringing the two Shibuya-centric RPGs together in their upcoming stylish action game.
Unpacking The REYNATIS TWEWY Collab
In a new trailer today, they showed that the REYNATIS TWEWY collab would feature characters from Reynatis pulled into the Reaper’s Game from NEO: The World Ends With You.
This includes characters from the game such as Shoko appearing to guide you through the process, even retaining her own artstyle instead of the REYNATIS visual language.
The collab even features Noise enemies appearing in-game, for the player character to fight with what appears to be the pins that make up The World Ends With You’s combat system.
“That’s right, we’ve transcended company boundaries to make this exciting collaboration happen!”, a statement from the REYNATIS team reads.
The announcement was originall teased on April Fools day, with many fans assuming that it would never come to fruition despite both games Shibuya-centric settings.
It’s not currently known how the REYNATIS TWEWY collab will be added to the game- whether it’ll be packaged as a side mission as a pre-order bonus or if it’ll actually be part of the game’s story in some capacity.
Given that The World Ends With You isn’t one of Square Enix’s mega franchises, it’s nice to see the game get its props from another game that shares its sense of style.
REYNATIS launches in Japan on July 27th, with the game also getting an English release at a later date, coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5.
