Capcom has confirmed that the Akuma Raging Demon super in Street Fighter 6 will not have an easy input mode in Modern Controls.

The news comes following the Street Fighter 6 location test, which sees players trying out Akuma as well as the post-season 1 patch for the fighting game.

There were rumors circulating that similar to super arts in the game, the Akuma Raging Demon super would have its infamous input simplified to one button for Modern controls.

However, today, the Street Fighter 6 Twitter account clarified that that wouldn’t be true:

“Neither the “Akuma Demo Version” nor the “Full Version” that have been available on Real Battle Hub since yesterday (5/1) feature the modern “One Button Instant Kill” control”, the tweet reads.

The one-button SP input instead gets you Akuma’s Super Art 3

“We would like to inform you that some incorrect information has been circulating:

  • SA3: Calamity ・CA: Calamity (Improved from SA3, can be activated when HP is below 25%)
  • Shun Goku Satsu: Can be activated by entering a command when health is below 25% “

The modern control inputs for Raging demon can be seen at the bottom left of the screen

The tweet even shows the inputs for the move in modern control, with Raging Demon requiring players to hit the Light, Light, Medium and Heavy buttons in succession for Modern mode.

This also does clarify the confusion around what exactly what the Akuma Raging Demon is- some thought that it would be Akuma’s critical art, due to the mention that he would have to be at low health to use it.

Akuma Raging Demon: An Important Part of Street Fighter History

The move is iconic enough that it even retains similar inputs in Tekken 7

The Akuma Raging Demon super is an iconic move used by the character- enough to have been in every game he’s been in.

Rather than simply be his Super Art 3, it takes the form of a special move for Akuma- being usable when his health is below 25% similar to other Critical Arts.

The PlayStation Blog mentions that the move can now be used at the end of a combo, though it’s unknown if it will still retain its unblockable properties from previous games.

The imagery of Akuma standing over characters’ bodies is iconic enough that he even has the move in his guest appearance in Tekken 7- and the move itself is even a secret super for Squigly in Skullgirls.
