The Helldivers 2 servers should be able to hold 700,000 players now, the latest step in the game’s ballooning success that’s seen players struggling to even get into the game.

In a tweet today, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt said that the server capacity had been adjusted to handle the increased player load, but it wouldn’t be a perfect solution.

“We have updated the max CCU cap to 700,000. Unfortunately, we expect the CCU to reach that level. We believe that the wait times will be much more bearable”, he said.

Helldivers 2 servers have been a victim of the game’s astounding success– the game’s server-wide combat and crossplay have seen over 457,000 players playing the game on PC alone, with an unreported number more on PS5.

Previously, Pilestedt had also said the game had sold over a million copies.

The game is Sony Interactive Entertainment’s most successful PC launch yet, having a higher peak concurrent user base than their other titles like God of War and Days Gone.
