Multiversus Release Date, Engine And More

In a new vlog today, they announced that the Multiversus release date has been set for May 28th 2024, with the game officially launching for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.

The vlog also reveals that the game has shifted engines to Unreal Engine 5, with the team promising better lighting effects and overall visuals.

Additionally, they also promised a new PvE mode for players who don’t just want to fight other players all the time.

About Multiversus

Multiversus is a 2v2 platform fighter crossing over multiple Warner Bros IPs, from mainstays like the Loony Tunes and DC to newer properties like Rick and Morty or Game Of Thrones.

It’s also currently the only fighting game to feature a member of the NBA, with Lebron James being one of the playable characters thanks to his appearance in Space Jam 2.

It’s free-to-play, and features rollback netcode as well as cross play across its platforms.

The game had previously soft-launched complete with a battlepass and seasonal updates as part of an extended Open Beta, before it was suddenly closed down last year.

Previously, Warner Bros executives had expressed interest in focusing more on live service titles instead of only banking on triple-A console releases, which could have been foreshadowing this particular bit of Multiversus news.
