With the Closed Beta currently underway, we have a good look at how the Zenless Zone Zero gacha experience is going to be, with a high likelihood that these features will also carry forward into the full release.

Since the last beta, some new features have been added too, particularly one to reward players for pulling on the game’s standard banner. That being said, if you’ve played a HoYoverse game before, chances are you’ll recognize a lot of how the rules work.

Zenless Zone Zero Gacha And How It Works

Polychromes are the games gem-equivalent- these can be used to purchase pulls for either the Standard of Featured Banner in the Zenless Zone Zero gacha system, Banners are as follows:

  • Featured Character banner (One limited S-rank Agent)
  • Featured W-Engine
  • Featured Bangboo
  • Standard Character Banner
Zenless Zone Zero Gacha

For the Featured Character Banner, the game has a hard pity of 90, wherein players will get an S-rank, with a 50-50 between whether or not it’s one of the standard characters or the featured character.

Getting a Standard Character on the banner will trigger a guarantee, and the next S-Rank Agent you get will be the featured character, and pity carries over between Featured Banners.

S-Rank Selector at 300 Standard Pulls

Meanwhile, the Standard Banner follows the structure of Honkai Star Rail, with the first 50 pulls being offered at a 20% discount and a guaranteed S-rank on the 50th pull. On the 300th pull, players also get to choose one of the Standard Banner S-rank Agents:

  • Nekomata
  • Koleda
  • Soldier 11
  • Lycaon
  • Grace
  • Rina

Weapon/Equipment Banner

W-Engines are the game’s weapon equivalent, and have their own banner featuring limited S-Rank W-Engines. These have a total pity of 80, with a 75% chance of getting the featured W-Engine and a guarantee on the next one if you miss it.

Once you unlock the Bangboo banner you’ll also be able to pull for Bangboos as part of the Zenless Zone Zero gacha, which act like ELFs in Honkai Impact 3rd. These also have their own limited S-rank units. Just like the W-Engines these are also at 80 pity, with a 75% chance to get the limited Bangboo.

Subject To Change

Do bare in mind that all of this info on the Zenless Zone Zero gacha comes form the current Amplifying Test- just like how the previous test didn’t have the Character Selector for the Standard Banner, a lot of this could still change before the game’s eventual release. That being said, given how much of it is in line with practices from Honkai Star Rail, there’s a good shot that a lot of this is the finalized description of how the gacha system works.
