Hi-Fi Rush studio Tango Gameworks as well as Redfall studio Arkane Austin are being shut down, according to internal emails by Microsoft employees.

Via IGN, emails were sent out to staff, with Microsoft’s Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty describing the exercise as a “reprioritization of titles and resources”.

Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin are far from the only studios getting the axe however, as Mighty Doom developer Alpha Dog Studios and Roundhouse Games are also being shut down, with key staff being moved to other projects like The Elder Scrolls Online.

In the case of Alpha Dog, Mighty Doom will also be sunsetted on August 7th, and the in-game cash store will be disabled.

Similarly, Redfall has also ceased development on future content for the game, though it will remain online for those who bought the game to keep playing.

“The game and its servers will remain online for players to enjoy and we will provide make-good offers to players who purchased the Hero DLC”, the email reads.

They’ve also promised that the closure of Tango Gameworks would not have any effect on the availability of Hi-Fi Rush

All of these studios were under Bethesda Game Studios, who were acquired by Microsoft for 7.5 billion USD in 2021.
