Augmented human C4-621 has awakened.

On an presentation by Mr Yasunori Ogura, the Lead Producer, and Mr Atsuo Yoshimura, the producer of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, more detailed information has been revealed recently.

Below are the key points to the presentation:

What’s ARMORED CORE:
Armored Core is a mech action series that’s been available since FromSoftware was founded.
With its base concept of “Piloting your own customized mech and destroying enemies“, the series features a robust assembly system that allowed a great number of possible playstyles, with assembly/customizations being reflected directly into the in-game action.

The series was developed under the concept of ” Customizing your action game experience through a robust assembly system” with a twist of FromSoftware’s action game philosophy, which includes:
-Smoothness of controls, reaction to input and tactile feel to the actions, and the “mech-likeness”
-Expansive and dynamic maps filled with situations that grants a sense of progression
-Originality and ingenuity and challenging action battle design.

With that in mind, the games were designed around several core design pillars, which includes
– A massive and 3-dimensional level design,
– A tactical combat system that is further expanded by parts assembly,
– A satsifying experience of overcoming challenging situations and earning hard-won victories.

In an actual gameplay showcase during the presentation, further explanation regarding the mobility system of the game was given:
The Assault boost is a core feature of Armored Core VI’s dynamic action. It is a skill unique to the title and can be utilized not only at battle, but also at traversal or exploration.
A dynamic 3-dimensional maneuver can be experienced by players that takes advantage of the unique capabilities of the mech.

Players can take any approach they like, either via the ground or the sky with boost to approach their objectives.
In combat, players can use the assault boost to get close to their enemies at once, Aggresive battles that changes a combat distance from far to near in an instance is a big feature of Fires of Rubicon.

The speed and tempo of the game seems to be on just a perfect balance between the speedy quick thrusts of AC IV, an average speed between AC III and V, with an emphasis on the melee weapon parts in game.

We’ll be revealing more information on the Combat aspect and Customization aspect in the next articles!

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will be released on August 25th 2023 with an worldwide simultaneous release, on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
