Leading video game publisher and developer Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia today announced SAND LAND, a new action RPG based on the immaculate masterpiece by Akira Toriyama, creator of DRAGON BALL and DR. SLUMP. The game is being developed by ILCA Inc. SAND LAND was revealed at this year’s Summer Game Fest “Kickoff Live” livestream and is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via STEAM.
Dive into a desert world where both humans and demons suffer from an extreme water shortage. Play as and watch the Fiend Prince, Beelzebub, Sheriff Rao and Thief set off on an adventure in search of a Legendary Spring hidden in the desert. Beelzebub introduces himself as a “super evil fiend” but has a pure heart akin to a little boy’s. He also possesses special skills like being able to read minds and can communicate with people telepathically. Rao is a small-town sheriff and is seeking help from demons to save humankind who are suffering from the water shortage. Thief, Beelzebub’s attendant who is also along for the journey is an expert at stealing.
In SAND LAND as Beelzebub, players will be able to explore a vast world with his companions. The unique mix of demons and humans, two completely different species, set off on an adventure. Whether roaming in various vehicles, or travelling by foot, the trio will encounter a number of dangerous scenarios, and people along their journey in the vast desert to uncover SAND LAND’s many secrets. Vehicular and character combat is a big part of the action in the game. Players have access to a wide range of vehicles that they can customise and equip with loadouts to traverse the land and take on a diverse assortment of mighty foes.

In a desert world where both humans and demons suffer from an extreme water shortage. Beelzebub, the Fiend Prince, Rao, a small-town sheriff, and Thief, form a trio and set off on an adventure in search of a Legendary Spring hidden in the desert.
In December 2022, the SAND LAND project was announced, where various partners have come together to bring this classic manga IP to transmedia. The project started with the co-production of an anime film by Bandai Namco Filmworks’ Sunrise Studio, Kamikazedouga Co. Ltd., and ANIMA Inc, followed by the official reveal of the SAND LAND game in June 2023.
