R. Talsorian Games has announced a Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit, letting you play missions in Cyberpunk RED themed after the popular anime.
The kit is designed to be a standalone expansion set in the 2070 era- specifically taking place after the ending of the anime and is set to release around Mid June.
It’ll be available via physical and Digital releases, as well as available for purchase via the R.Talsorian Games website.
The star of the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit is obviously The Jacket- a mission set after the events of the anime.
Not much has been revealed about the contents of the mission, but given the open-ended nature of tabletop games it’s a good way to get your friends invested in the hobby- letting them insert themselves into the setting of the Edgerunners anime.
The Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit includes the following:
- The Edgerunners Handbook: Full of world lore curated to give you the detes you need to survive in Night City. Hand-picked by the creator of Cyberpunk, Mike Pondsmith.
- Rule Book: Exactly what you need to play the game, from the classic Friday Night Firefight to 2070-era guns, cyberware, and quickhacks.
- The Jacket: A full-length mission for your Crew to play. Find out what happens after the anime ends.
- Seven Edgerunners: Pre-made to let you jump into the action. Featuring art by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners director Hiroyuki Imaishi.
- New Lore & Backgrounds for David, Lucy, Rebecca, and the rest of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Crew.
- A set of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners-themed dice (two d10s and four d6s).
- Maps, standees, and tokens to help bring the world of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners to life.
One of the coolest inclusions in the kit, though, is art of pre-generated characters by Cyberpunk Edgerunners director Hiroyuki Imaishi, best known for the defining art style of Studio TRIGGER>
The Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit Shows How Big Cyberpunk Has Gotten Thanks To The Anime
Cyberpunk Edgerunners has gotten a lot of eyes on the Cyberpunk IP, specifically the tabletop it all spawned from.
Skirmish game spin-off Cyberpunk Red Combat Zone is even having its own Edgerunners-themed expansion, featuring miniatures of David’s gang as well as iconic Cyberpunk character Adam Smasher.
The anime even drew more people to Cyberpunk 2077, months ahead of its big revamp via the Phantom Liberty update.
