A trailer, which compares the quality of graphics in the original Klonoa titles with the graphics in the new remastered Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, is out now! New features and remastered elements for the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series

Feature #1: Rescue the villagers tormented by nightmares and collect the Momett Dolls!

Each stage in Klonoa: Door to Phantomile contains villagers tormented by nightmares, while each stage in Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil contains Momett Dolls that are to be collected.

When all villagers tormented by nightmares have been rescued in Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, this will unlock the EXTRA VISION stage. Meanwhile, the Chamber o’ Fun and Chamber o’ Horrors stages will be unlocked in Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil, depending on the number of Momett Dolls collected. Keep an eye out for them and try to collect them all.

Feature #2: Test your skills in bonus stages!

Players can fulfill certain conditions to unlock bonus stages. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile features the bonus stage, EXTRA VISION, while Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil contains the Chamber o’ Fun and the Chamber o’ Horrors.

While these are high-difficulty stages, the time required to clear them will be displayed on screen – allowing you to come back to these stages and try to beat your best score at another time!

Feature #3: Collect Dream Stones!

Each stage contains Dream Stones to help Klonoa on his adventure. Collect 100 to earn an extra life!

Collecting 150 Dream Stones in each stage in Klonoa: Door to Phantomile changes the Dream Stone icon on the World Map, while collecting 150 Dream Stones in each stage in Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil unlocks the various artworks in the Memorial Gallery!

Remastered Version Special Feature: “Pixel Filter”

Select “Pixel Filter” under the game’s settings to play the game in nostalgic pixel art format, and transport yourself back in time for a true retro gaming experience!

What is Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series?

Celebrating the 25th birthday of the franchise, the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series will feature Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. The titles’ graphics received an elegant revamp running at 60fps and up to 4K resolution, while Klonoa's beloved world and classic gameplay have been faithfully preserved for new players and fans of the original to enjoy.

Released initially in 1997 by Namco, Klonoa is a side-scrolling platform game featuring a colourful character roster and vibrant game world. It's up to the player to embark on a journey to save Phantomile, stepping in Klonoa’s shoes. The remaster will add an adjustable difficulty level and a 2-player co-op option, allowing franchise newcomers to delve right into the action, and long-time fans to get reacquainted with ease.
